Now don’t go taking the title of this blogpost too seriously, you hear. While I do occasionally enjoy checking out a beachy sim, especially if it’s new to me, I can’t say I find it such a soothing experience that I would call it actually therapeutic. I could rather do with a bit of real sun, sea and sand at the moment. If the weather doesn’t turn around quickly in Stockholm, it will soon seem more appropriate to wish people a Merry Christmas instead of a Happy Easter. Bah humbug! Still, I try to make the most of it and enjoy any sim that has a tranquil vibe.
The sim I have been exploring this time is called Butter and on the whole I’d say it’s a smooth experience. I was only slightly annoyed to find that the sim’s anti AFK settings had transported me home while I was of to the basement in real life to throw a couple of loads in the washing machines. Later, when I saw the ban lines around a small island, I felt a sense of dread, but as I explored the sim further I found that most of this sim is publicly accessible and there are several cute places where one could hang out with friends for a nice chat and/or a cuddle. There are plenty of details that make this sim atmospheric and interesting, although I wouldn’t go as far as to call it intriguing.

Personally I like to put together a couple of beachy outfits that compliment each other, making good use of how easily one switches from one outfit to another with the push of a button. In this case I made one outfit with swimwear (the newest thong by Noche) and made a second one that is slightly more covered up and more appropriate for a visit to one of the several cafes you’ll find at Butter Beach. I’m not sure if David Beckham really succeeded in making the sarong a thing that plenty of men actually wear. I think it was just a short-lived fad, to be honest. I still love my sarong in Second Life™ as an easy transition garment from beach to street, as long as it’s worn in a casual holiday setting. Combine it with a cute tank top and a pair of flip flops or sandals and you’re good to go.
