What a rush

There’s this increasing sense that life is in a real rush to get things over and done with, as if my life is an independent entity I have zero control over. Time is a monster in a relentless pursuit of my energy and my very essence. Time is the Skeksis and I’m a Gelfling. In my search for something that will slow down time in a meaningful way, I find myself wondering why it is that while I’m performing some mind numbing task, time seems to be crawling by slow enough alright! Why can’t that perception of time be applied to fun stuff? And how is that in the rear view mirror time gets even more fucked up. I am the worst when it comes to remembering how long ago something happened. If I feel that surely it was only yesterday, you can bet your life on it, that it happened at least five years ago.

My best guess is, that the most effective way to slow down time is to spend it with people who add to your quality of life in whatever way you see fit, because people who need people are the luckiest people in the world (are they Barbara, are they really?). This time will go by unbelievably fast while you’re living it, but it will be stored in your memory bank in slow motion moments you’ll be able to recall in vivid daydreams. On the other hand… the same can be said about a car accident. Oh well, que sera sera.
