Clearing out the wardrobe – Episode 16

In for a penny, in for a pound, that’s how the saying goes. In this case it means that while I already updated an old look for my previous blog post, I think I’ll keep it going for a bit and spruce up another one from ‘Ye Olde Outfits.’ Fun fact: the ‘ye olde’ is correctly pronounced as simply “the old”, so these puns only work in writing, if you want to be a stickler for the rules about it.

Only newbies would need to be explained that in Second Life™ and ‘outfit’ also includes whatever, skin, hair, mesh body parts etc. you are wearing. So even if I were to update a birthday suit, I’d still be creating an outfit. Don’t get overexcited now though, cause I shall be wearing clothes, but I will of course swap out all the avatar parts as well.

Just as with the previous episode of ‘Clearing out the wardrobe’, The old look dates back to the time when Meshbody was still known as The Mesh Project, or TMP. I have various replacement bodies in my wardrobe, which are far more useful than the skeletons in my closet. As the previous episode favoured the Legacy body, today I’ll be out and about wearing Belleza Jake. I think at some point this was the favorite mesh body in SL, but it may have been overtaken by Legacy these days. Other people run poles to find out which is the most popular mesh body, but I don’t particularly care. You like what you like, right? From a practical point of view it does make sense to choose a body that is widely supported by creators and most creators include a Bellaze size.

Fortunately this time around I didn’t have to go on a mad goose chase to try and find a replacement pare of sweatpants, because my sponsor and indeed one of my favourite brands (which is the only way I’d ever want to blog for a brand) just released a new one. You’ll find the Usher Sweats by Noche at the Alpha Event until February 17 and after that, they’ll be available from Noche’s main store. Of course there is an absolute wealth of sweatpants in SL. I just had a flashback to the days I was trying to make the NX Nardcotix David body work, and would try on all sizes, because often there was no specific size available for that body. I’m sure I did a sweatpants special back then. Ah, the good old days when I was still full of beans! Anywhoo, there isn’t much more to say now so I’ll leave you with the credits.
