OK, I admit, quite a lot of my Second Life™ outfits are just underpants and possibly a tank top. But hey, why not create the illusion of a perpetual lazy Sunday in your virtual life? After all, it’s going to be just another manic Monday soon enough. Simple as those outfits may be, they too become outdated at some point. Especially if you also count the mesh body, mesh head and hair as part of the outfit, which of course we do in SL.
As so often is the case for me, the old look dates back to the time when Meshbody was still known as The Mesh Project, or TMP. I was using their Deluxe mesh body and head and it looked Fine, but of course we’ve come a long way since then and I wouldn’t want to go back to those pre-Bento days, when we couldn’t play with the shape sliders to adjust the look of mesh heads. We’ve come so far since, even if the world seams to be going to hell in a handbasket, but let’s not dwell on reality too much. Rather than use the direct replacement for the TMP body, I decided to give Belleza Jake another airing. I remember how this body quickly became all the rage when it was launched.

Even though I’m sure I enjoyed them nine years ago, you can tell that the old crop top and briefs were made with less knowhow and finesse. Finding suitable replacements for the old look was easy-peasy, as my virtual underwear draw is overflowing, I’ve got a nice stash of crop tops and some great choices for socks. As it happens, you can be really lazy in this case and get it all from Noche.

For those of you who are curious about my interior design choices, the N4RS Famous Sofa is an oldie but a goodie and the shelving unit and desk you vaguely see in the background are from the Dover set by Fancy Decor. If you look at the larger image on my Flickr, you will be able to make out the four poster bed and end tables from the Blague set by Fancy Decor.
I still enjoy coming home in my stylish little shack in the sky or my Linden Home, but other than changing a small detail here and there, I haven’t done any serious home making in Second Life™ in ages. Occasionally I toy with the idea to switch from a Premium to a Premium Plus account. It comes with a larger land allowance and I could either get one of the bigger Linden Homes (with more prims) that are available on that membership level or purchase a 2048 m² parcel which you can own without extra monthly fees on top of the Premium Plus membership fee, but then I wonder if this is really the ideal time for more frivolous spending and let the idea go. I’ll just keep playing with my man doll instead and make him pretty.
