Just An Outfit Of The Day #4

And thus my dearest gentle reader, this author finds himself without wit, inspiration or indeed the mental fortitude to conjure up a clever link between the Second Life™ items I shall be blogging about and the title and underlying subject of this post. It is so that I arrive at yet another episode of the Outfit Of The Day series. Also, if the highfalutin style of what came before hasn’t made it obvious so far, I should divulge that I just finished watching an episode of Bridgerton. How droll it would be to find an exquisite virtual facsimile of The Ton in Second Life, but halas, I fear that I probably would find it lacking charm. Without doing any research, I venture to guess that the Regency era isn’t well represented and supported by SL creators, but do feel free to prove me wrong in the comments.

Meanwhile the subject that has been on my mind most these days is time itself. Quite possibly the subject has found it’s way into my meandering writings before, but in the end, we all will just keep repeating ourselves. I’ve long held the believe that the world has run out of truly original ideas a while ago and everything is just regurgitated old material with some tweaks. For example, do we truly need a new Harry Potter series? Do the existing movies already feel so outdated that something fresh needed to be created to attract a new younger audience? I guess that’s possible. After all, time does fly, when you’re busy throwing clocks at people.

Isn’t it mind boggling how often it feels like something, like for example a regular workday, is dragging on for an eternity in the present, but seems to have passed in the blink of an eye as soon as you view it through life’s rear view mirror. Maybe for those with an eidetic memory and strong capacity for conjuring up an image, the experience is different. Maybe some people are more able to feel anchored, more solid, more present in life, but personally I’m starting to feel that Father Time is just dragging me along for the ride. I’ve just returned from a holiday and as the plane landed in Stockholm in the afternoon, it hit me how odd it felt that only that same morning I had been at my parent’s place in Belgium. It seemed very peculiar how these two different worlds of my life could exist on the same day. One moment I was saying bye to my parents and giving their cat a final little head scratch and next I was dumping my luggage at home and heading into Stockholm town for a meal. Maybe our means of travelling have become too fast for our minds and we just need some extra time to mentally arrive at a destination. OMG, imagine everything was just a whoosh away like in SL! That sounds simultaneously awesome and terrifying. I think I would never be able to catch up with myself.

In all fairness, all this pondering about time getting away from me, probably is just middle age creeping up on me and the fear that old age will overtake me at great speed. This sounds like the midlife crisis I should have had on my 40th birthday instead of now when I’m close to 50. Oy vey! I don’t have the money or flexibility to own a snazzy little sports car and support a twink toy boy! Thank goodness retail therapy in Second Life is much more affordable when compared with real life prices and as a member of Noche’s blog team I have free access to a pretty sweet range of hot items to do all my Second Life “whooshing” in. I was already hooked on the brand before I was granted that access and being accepted as blogger for the brand was a small wish come true.

Two of Noche’s newest items are the rather fun button-popping-tight Kai Shirt and the suave Silky Pants, which pair well together. The Kai Shirt is coming hot from the round of Fameshed that just ended on September 27th and you’ll find it at Noche’s main store now. The Silk Pants are currently featured at the Alpha Event until October 17th.
Now that autumn is upon us, the warm brown colours were really shouting out to me and that’s what I went for this time for my outfit. Maybe I’ll hop over to the Alpha Event tomorrow or Tuesday and see if I can find one or two items form other creators that would go well with the silk pants or sweater. So it looks like I’m ending on a cliffhanger. Will I or won’t I squeeze in another post before the month has ended? Well, that’ll depend on whether or not I’ll find the… time.
